Affordable Middle-Class Housing:
In today’s New York, you’re either too rich or too poor to find stable, affordable housing—what happens to those in the middle? Michael Blake believes it’s time to reimagine the middle. He will champion policies that expand affordable housing for middle-class families, ensuring that the working people who make our city run have a place to call home. This includes:
A Return Home Tax Break for middle-class homeowners, businesses returning to the city, and recent college graduates, incentivizing them to live, work, and thrive in New York.
Reimagining Education:
Michael Blake knows that education is the key to unlocking New York City’s future. His plan to reimagine education focuses on supporting every child from birth to adulthood. Every young person should have the resources to realize their New York City dream, including:
- Expanding early childhood education.
- Strengthening mentorship programs like My Brother’s Keeper.
- Creating partnerships with businesses to guide students from the classroom to career opportunities.
Guaranteed Income:
Michael believes that no New Yorker should live in poverty in one of the wealthiest cities in the world. His plan to guarantee income is aimed at creating economic stability for every resident. He understands that if people have jobs and a reliable income, crime decreases, and communities become more secure.

- Reforming police practices by ensuring that officers come from the communities they serve, promoting trust and accountability.
- Prioritizing community-based safety solutions, such as violence interrupters and mental health professionals, to address the root causes of crime and keep neighborhoods safe.
Technology for Good:
Michael Blake believes in the power of technology to improve lives. His plan will use smarter technology to directly address resident needs, modernizing constituent services to be more efficient, responsive, and accessible.

Under Michael’s leadership, the city will show its support for nonprofits by paying upfront for the first two months of a contract, with monthly repayments for services rendered after that. This will ensure organizations can continue to do their vital work without financial strain.
Sports & Entertainment:
With the 2026 World Cup coming to New York City, Michael will create the position of a Global Sports Czar to reimagine the intersection of sports and entertainment. This role will ensure that major events like the World Cup are used as platforms to create jobs, build community pride, and showcase New York City on the global stage.
