My heart is with the people of Puerto Rico today as they face another massive power outage, especially as we prepare to enter the New Year. It’s heartbreaking to see our brothers and sisters on the island continue to struggle with an unreliable energy system.New York City and the Blake for NYC campaign stand with you now and in the future.
The unstable energy infrastructure in Puerto Rico is more than just a challenge for political leaders in the metropolis and on the island —it is a growing national threat, impacting Puerto Ricans right here in New York City. Beyond hindering economic development and progress, it demands immediate action, without waiting for debates over blame. Every leader must assume responsibility and act decisively.
We are developing a policy plan that will demonstrate our support for Puerto Rico so that families have stable energy, financial security and rich cultural vibrancy.
